Irony invited me down to London to paint at his new venue the Nags Head Market. The only issue was that it was painting freehand on shutters which I've never done before. Keeping in mind that fear of failure holds you back I went down with a positive attitude that even if I bombed it would be a good learning experience. It was meant to be a worm head but I get that it looks more like a fish, either way I was pleased with the result. Shutters are not as bad as I thought, the uneven surface gives you a lot of leeway in your lines which was a good thing for a first timer. Here are some of the other artists paintings... Obviously I'm colouring in my own book. I see it as research for volume 2. Anyway here is page 1 using Promarkers.
Sometimes I get to be a part of some really cool projects. One of my favourites from last year was hooking up with the Frankie Fordham Motorsports team to work on their branding. They were cool enough to want to work with my character so I was happy to oblige. Check out the video below and see how a small sketch ended up on a drag racer. Frankie was just your average quiet kid who's hobby was drag racing when he first started coming to Doodle Club. Its been amazing to be a part of his journey both on and off the track. Merch available from Frankie Fordham Motorsports Facebook I totally failed at Inktober this year. I got halfway through and then just got too busy to spare time for the project. I've kept the prompts though to try and finish before next Inktober if possible. Here are my first few attempts. Many sold but a few are still available.
Had a great time at Bring The Paint 2019 pasting up over 100 Korpworm posters. Huge thanks to Izzy and the gang for organising such a great festival. Bring The Paint T-Shirt CampaignI loved the poster so much I decided to put it on a t-shirt. You can pre-order your own t-shirt before 30th June for just £16.99, after that the price goes up to £21.99.
The Ikea tunnel between Hampton and Stanground is the main legal paint spot in Peterborough and up until recently I had never painted there. Glad to finally get up in Peterborough with this little stencil piece.
