Play & Destroy is the latest show at the amazing Play Dead gallery in Southsea. Featuring over 40 skate decks from some of the UKs best street artists this is a show full of variety that is not to be missed. Czee painted the wall out front and I got a little space inside the gallery for a skatedeck shaped korpworm.

In 2016 I started a Kickstarter to help fund a solo show at the Play Dead gallery in Southsea. Some of the pledges from that campaign were for commissioned pieces of art and today I was finally able to deliver the very last of those commissions. I don't usually hand deliver work because of the pressure of seeing your art being unwrapped by its new owner but as the pledge was from someone local I decided I would and I'm really glad I did.
Here are a couple of pics of the artwork. It is titled "The Fear Goes Away". This weekend saw the opening night of Nothing Is Lost by Midge at the Play Dead gallery. A fantastic selection of serene artwork with an intricacy that has to be seen to be fully appreciated.
Very happy to finally add these limited edition prints to my store. Designed by Korp and screen printed by M-One for the Play Dead show these A3 silk screen prints on heavyweight 290gsm white card are a very limited edition of 10. All are signed and numbered by the artist.
These were the original inspiration for the Play Dead wall which you can see here. There is no shortage of great photographers in Southsea. These shots were taken at my solo show in Play Dead by the talented Matt Maber. Social links below photos. Today is your last chance to catch my solo show at Play Dead in Portsmouth and to celebrate we are having a flash auction of two standout pieces from the show but be warned the auction ends on Sunday 10th at 5pm. Simply comment on the photos to place your bid. All bids must be in increments of £5. Auction ends 5pm on Sunday 10th July 2016, highest bid at this time wins. Starting bids are just £10. Please share! My show at Play Dead will be ending soon. Here is a little look at the artwork on display but you have to be there really. There are only a few pieces left so speak to Samo at the gallery if you see something you like On the 11th June I started a 4 week solo show at Play Dead gallery in Southsea. The opening night was a huge success with long queues outside, a packed gallery and a flurry of red dots. There are a lot of people to thank for getting me to that point but I have to start with Samo and Lex who let me exhibit in their gallery. Also got to say thanks to M-One for helping with the paste ups and spreading the word leading up to the show, Hannah, Donna and Samo for letting me crash with them and everyone that backed me on the Kickstarter to help fund the show. Lastly but not leastly a massive thank you to everyone that came to watch me paint the wall and all that attended the opening night, it was great. THANK YOU SOUTHSEAI wanted to explore a darker side of my art for the show and ended up with a couple of recurring themes, the most notable of which was the blackworm. The blackworm character is my representation of mental illness. Many of the pieces I created at the show had very small blackworms in them so the artwork looked pretty normal on face value but as you look closer or scratch beneath the surface you will find the blackworms are there. If you visit the show you'll also see the story of how the blackworm originally manifests itself in words and thoughts, at times it takes over completely but can also be controlled with messy consequences. In more severe forms the blackworm can be deadly and this is captured in the piece titled "Please Don't Leave Me". WHAT DO YOU WANT FROM METhere are many more messages and themes within the show that deal with anxiety and addiction which I would be happy to expand on but I'm really interested to hear what everyone else thinks so please let me know what it says to you. I was blessed with the attention of some fantastic photographers and Instagramers over the days leading up to the show, below are a selection of photographs from the wall and show. If you have any photos you would like added please get in touch. howard hurd fivearchitectsg3rzegorzI still cant decide which version I like best. Jon_TyrrellteresaJACK WILLIAMSONInstagram user Jack Williamson came along and recorded a timelapse of day 2. You may already know that Play Dead is not only a street art gallery but also a tattoo studio. As a result I can finally confirm that Play Dead will be doing Korp tattoos. Check out the flash sheets below and then get in touch with Samo if you are interested. Be sure to post a photo if you get a tattoo done so I can add it to my Planet Korp photomonial page.
