The UK Urban artist known as Korp employs multi-layered stencil techniques and marker pens to create utterly contemporary and frequently iconographic images. His stencil work displays a remarkable level of patience and an exceptional eye for detail and the use of text and hidden meanings in many of the images belies a subverted playfulness. Lately Korp is better recognised for his marker work which consists of an army of mutated worms that frequently explore his childhood experiences and current affairs.
Korp was an early member of the global art movement known as Free Art Friday and in 2012 he featured on the BBC Culture Show alongside Fin DAC and My Dog Sighs. More recently you can find him painting at some of the many live street art festivals happening across Europe. |
