Had a great time at Bring The Paint 2019 pasting up over 100 Korpworm posters. Huge thanks to Izzy and the gang for organising such a great festival. Bring The Paint T-Shirt CampaignI loved the poster so much I decided to put it on a t-shirt. You can pre-order your own t-shirt before 30th June for just £16.99, after that the price goes up to £21.99.
I've recently launched a campaign to help me get some t-shirts printed. If I pre-sell 20 before the end of February we go to print. If I don't sell 20 then everyone gets a refund. Here is how the design came about. The original sketch was completed a few weeks ago during a session where I was experimenting with new feet for my Korpworm character. I'd settled on these 3 pointed feet that, to me, look a little like the corners of a pillow case. I added all the other detail like the feathers, body stripes and arms but then, in order to fix what I thought was missing in the overall composition, I added really big fingers. Next stage was to scan the design and run it through Illustrator to turn it into a vector image. I knew the image would naturally work as black ink on a white t-shirt but I also wanted to add an option to have white ink on a black t-shirt (because black t-shirts are a lot more popular). So you can see from the image below I've added a small white border. Now being a poor starving artist I cant just go and pay for 20 t-shirts to be printed (don't feel sorry for me, I love my job) so I needed to mock up what they would look like. Luckily there are a few free Photoshop mock up files you can grab off the internet that do a great job and in past experience have been very accurate to what actually gets delivered. So the wrinkles are added to make it look more realistic but the first bit of feedback I got was you could have ironed the shirts...so I found a neat little Android app called UMM: Universal Marketing Mock-up that creates mock ups for you on a mobile device. If the campaign is successful the boys and girls and Sea Dog Print Studio have saved me a spot mid-March to have them printed so you can feel confident that the quality will be super high.
So help me out and pre-order your t-shirt today using the links below. Urban portraits are back, if you are interested in getting a one layer stencil of you or a loved one then get in touch. Here is an example of what you will get.
I worked with 2 great friends this year in Winniemmay and Process. Despite the wind we had a great time painting a large board at Ashton Gate Stadium. Unfortunately I forgot to take a picture and the only one I can find is just a detail shot of my section. I did have fun with the paste ups as well and unlike my main board there are a tonne of photos of Margeworm on the internet. Here are some favourites I've stolen. If you like the Margeworm piece you can buy the t-shirt at my shop. Just be aware there is a catch, if I sell 20 before the 9th September we go to print. If not its refunds all round.
Had a great day painting on giant records for the Pie & Vinyl Record Store Day Paint Jam. Keeping me company were Winniemmay, My Dog Sighs and M-one. Big thanks to Pie & Vinyl for organising the event and Play Dead for inviting me down. HAND PAINTED RECORDS AVAILABLE FROM PLAY DEADThese three and three more are available exclusively from the Play Dead gallery in Southsea.
I'm very pleased to announce the release of 3 customised skateboard decks that I have been working on for the last few weeks. Each has been hand painted with extra detail and outlining completed with my trusty Posca markers. ![]()
If you have bitcoin and love art then this news is for you. This Friday at 7pm I will be launching my Bitcoin art store with a limited edition run of 12 Hexworms exclusively available to cutomers who can pay with Bitcoin. Each Hexworm is individually hand drawn on hexagonal card and is signed and numbered by the artist. There will also be a handful of other surprise pieces available at great Bitcoin prices just like this.
A new Korpworm on 15cm square of plywood with the lyrics "If she knew what she wants" on it. The song is an eighties hit by The Bangles that was originally written by Jules Shear. Anyway I somehow managed to completely miss it back then so its been on the playlist a lot recently.
I've been doing these 10cm square pieces for some time now as warm ups for when I'm working on new artwork and I've decided to make them available on eBay only. No minimum, no reserveso go set up a search for MINIKORPS and see if you can bag yourself a bargain. The video below includes some customised pen pots which you'll need to grab from my store. |
