I originally created this piece as a way of playing with the new deep Posca colours to see if there were any new colour combos worth using but I quickly fell in love with the vibrancy. I dont often use a lot of different colours so this is quite a unique piece.

I recently set up a profile on Twitch so I could broadcast a little more. I enjoy doodling with company so this felt like a good way to do that on the fly. Find me here.
My first stream was to try out the new Posca colours and let you know what I thought of them. I'm very pleased to be a finalist for the Posca Artist of the year January vote. There are 20 finalists Tto choose from and its dead easy to vote to vote for your favourite. The prompt for January was FUTURE and my piece below represents that theme through the use of colour which is how I plan to finish my future Korpworm art.
Painted a frame black. Placed a few favourites in it 👇 Silently Winning Battles
£55.00
My good friend Daniel Wilson posted a shout out specifically for all those who keep their darkest moments private. In his post was the line "you've been silently winning battles and transforming yourself" and I liked it because in this age where it's ok to talk about your feelings there are a lot of people that still dont. This one is for you. Size: 14.5cm x 21cm approx. unframed Media: Uni-Pin marker on paper These came about after the 2019 Inktober prompt and I've enjoyed drawing them ever since. Prick

“In times of crises, those living in the margins suffer the most” #TransAwarenessWeek feels like the right time to share my solidarity with the trans community. Here I've used the iconic Stonewall poster as a backdrop for my latest piece. 50% sale price goes to Mermaids who support trans and gender-diverse children, young people, and their families. Size: 16cm x 17cm Media: Posca and Promarker on upcycled cardboard (rough cut) Date: 2020 Signed: Korp As a bit of a side project I'm doing these 13x13 pieces on cardboard...just to keep me on form. Here are the latest pieces.
I've recently been listening to a lot of Linkin Park again and that combined with the fact that I need to start my daily art drills again has coincided to produce this little piece. For those that don't know art drills is where I force myself to draw every morning before I do anything else. It's the top priority, before commissions, tax returns, emails, phone calls etc. It only has to be something small so you can finish it and feel like you've accomplished something. As soon as you've done art drills then you can get on with your day. I find it helps keep your focus on what being a creative practitioner is all about. I'm also finding Hybrid Theory and Meteora inspiring. Original Artwork by KorpI'm not a Prick...You're a Prick!

I've just added a quote to this piece I did last year that I think really suits it! This was based on a piece I did for Inktober. The prompt was CRUEL and I wanted to show how cruel the mind could be. The shadow (blackworm) being the manifestation of mental illness holding onto you and stopping you from moving forward. The palms are up in an attempt to fool with an "I'm fine" position. Size: 30cm x 12.5cm (Framed 34cm x 16.5cm) Media: Posca pen and Promarker on cardboard Dated: November 2020 Signed: K Primula Veris
£350.00
Sold out I love the mix of the grungy background and the delicate foreground that plays with my ongoing theme of how the masks we wear cover what is really going on underneath. The ornate gold frame has also been painted and sprayed symbolising that the darkness cannot be contained. Made from a hand drawn and hand cut stencil based on several Mucha posters and represents a future direction for my artwork. Size: 19cm x 19cm approx. unframed Media: Posca/Molotow/Promarker on paper It was the first Battle Lines of the year recently and it was me up against my good buddy Arran MacPhail. Had a great time...and I won!!
Irony invited me down to London to paint at his new venue the Nags Head Market. The only issue was that it was painting freehand on shutters which I've never done before. Keeping in mind that fear of failure holds you back I went down with a positive attitude that even if I bombed it would be a good learning experience. It was meant to be a worm head but I get that it looks more like a fish, either way I was pleased with the result. Shutters are not as bad as I thought, the uneven surface gives you a lot of leeway in your lines which was a good thing for a first timer. Here are some of the other artists paintings... |
