Sometimes I get to be a part of some really cool projects. One of my favourites from last year was hooking up with the Frankie Fordham Motorsports team to work on their branding. They were cool enough to want to work with my character so I was happy to oblige. Check out the video below and see how a small sketch ended up on a drag racer. Frankie was just your average quiet kid who's hobby was drag racing when he first started coming to Doodle Club. Its been amazing to be a part of his journey both on and off the track. Merch available from Frankie Fordham Motorsports Facebook I totally failed at Inktober this year. I got halfway through and then just got too busy to spare time for the project. I've kept the prompts though to try and finish before next Inktober if possible. Here are my first few attempts. Many sold but a few are still available.
Had a great time at Bring The Paint 2019 pasting up over 100 Korpworm posters. Huge thanks to Izzy and the gang for organising such a great festival. Bring The Paint T-Shirt CampaignI loved the poster so much I decided to put it on a t-shirt. You can pre-order your own t-shirt before 30th June for just £16.99, after that the price goes up to £21.99.
I've really enjoyed sketching in this small square spiral bound sketchbook. The brown paper is perfect for paintmarkers. Thought you might like to see some of the results. Yesterday I launched my first ever colouring in competition with a chance to win an urban art bundle. This is open to school age children who must enter the competition through a participating school or arts organisation. It is free to enter and you will get a customised colouring sheet like the one below with your schools name in the banner. For more details click here.
Over the weekend I had the opportunity to paint in my old hometown of Market Deeping as part of the Celebrating Our High Streets initiative. It was a blustery day, dangerously so, so we moved off the high street into an alley full of shops. My board was a little smaller than I was used to so I paced myself in order to fill the whole day with live art. Huge thanks to the organisers for stepping forward and pulling this together at the last minute and for everyone that stopped by to say hello. As well as my live art there was also free poems being written by Charley Genever and Claire Currie and a stilt walker from Giggle Town Arts to keep the kids amused. Check them out. ADVERT
